Actor Dia Mirza celebrated her son Avyaan’s third birthday on May 14 but it was not an ordinary celebration. Since she is an environmentalist, it was an eco-friendly birthday celebration for her son and looks pretty cool. She took to her Instagram account and dropped several pictures, peering into the birthday celebration. And it was all sustainability. Dia Mirza opted for sustainable decor for her son’s birthday celebration. It was all about ‘Reusable decor. No balloons. No plastic.’

The Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein actor captioned, “This garden is our sanctuary… how blessed we are to have it. It’s also Avyaan’s favourite place. And the venue for his 3rd Birthday. Trees, butterflies, birds and breeze put all the children at ease. Celebrations can be made sustainable by incorporating simple measures. Sharing a few with you here with the hope that it may guide you when celebrating your little ones special days.

Dia Mirza on maintaining Avyaan and Samaira’s privacy

On Mother’s Day, we asked Dia Mirza why unlike other star kids her kids are not in the limelight and papped much. The Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein actress shares, “I think baccho ko bacha hi rehna chahiye. Kabhi agar paps dekh lete hai humko toh mai rokti nahi. Otherwise, Samaira is particularly shy and doesn’t like being seen in the media. She does not enjoy and we respect that. Avyaan is too young to tell us whether he likes it or not. But I am not in favour of inviting the paparazzi if I am with my children. If they happen to be there, Avyaan and Samaira are respectful. They greet paps by saying Namaste or hello. And we go about doing what we have to.
